At Sacred Heart we teach the New Zealand Curriculum. This covers all academic areas except Religious Education which is taught using the the Religious Education Curriculum and Bridging Document.
Year 7 and 8 pupils attend Hutt Intermediate School for Technology each term.
All student reporting is completed on LINC-ED, our student management system. We call this system “Right Now Reporting”. Students receive either 5 or 6 comments each term, covering the curriculum. We do not provide paper reports. On enrolment you will receive a user name and password to access your child’s information. Any concerns about your child can be discussed at any time throughout the year by appointment.
We are a water only school and we encourage healthy eating for all students and staff. Therefore chippies, sweets, fizzy drinks or generally unhealthy foods are not allowed at school. Free milk is available to all students at school.
Newsletters are sent home electronically every second Wednesday, and notices are sent as needed.
Assemblies are every alternative Friday at 2pm in the Hall. Everyone is welcome to join us.
Homework is given to children on week nights. Junior School children need to practice and share
their reading from books sent home every day. Homework procedures for senior students are
outlined at the beginning of each year. Students may opt to take part in the RISE Home Learning Challenge.
Children attending Sacred Heart School are required to wear School Uniforms.
The correct Uniform items can be purchased through the school Uniform Shop. The Uniform Shop is open on Mondays from 2.45 – 3.15pm and Tuesdays from 8.45 – 9.15am.
